Notice - Bike Owners
September 11th, 2009

Delta Land Developments has installed a fob on the Cordova Street loading bay door to allow residents to use this door to take bicycles in and out of the building without using the parking garage ramps or the main elevators. You will now be able to take your bicycle out of the bike storage rooms using the service elevator and the loading bay door (Cordova Street side). We are delighted with this alteration which will make it so much easier for cyclists to get their bikes in and out of the building.
You can pick up your fob starting on Monday September 14th. One fob has been allocated per suite.

Note:
The door is programmed to stay open between the hours of 6 am and 3 pm daily.  You will not need to use your fob during this time.  Outside of those hours, the fob will open the door and it will close automatically behind you.

Notice - New Planter
August 10th, 2009

We have replanted the front flower bed removing the bamboo and grasses and
planting two flowering trees (magnolias) and small shrubbery (hebe red
edge).  We were concerned that the bamboo with its aggressive root structure
would damage the foundation and ultimately lead to water leakage problems in
the future.  This new arrangement will be far easier to maintain and will
not pose the same problems as the bamboo.  We hope that you like the cleaner
lines and new look of our front entrance.

Cielo Concierge Desk
The following is the schedule:
On Friday September 25th, the site will be prepared for construction and the wiring will be pulled through the floor for the desk.
On September 30th the millwork will arrive on site.
October 1st the glass will be installed with the stonework following on October 2nd.
October 5 and 6 will see the electrical hook-up and the installation of the security and computer equipment.
Thank you for your patience and we hope that you are pleased with the final result.

1. Attached is an updated schedule (pdf) for the concierge desk that was prepared by our designers (Blue Fish Design).  This note from them explains how the process will unfold and when there will be work happening in the lobby.  We have put up a temporary desk in order to begin the service – Justice Buck and Teresita have begun their work as Concierges and had a day of orientation yesterday going through our bylaws, rules and procedures for the building.

2. We are installing an electronic bulletin board at the desk in the next day or two – be sure to check it out for notices and updates.

3. Finally, we hope to see many of you at the summer social this Thursday August 6th!

Notice - Concierge Update and Job Description.

Final design of the concierge desk has been completed.  A poster board showing the design and the materials is on display in the lobby adjacent to the mailboxes.  The project  is ahead of schedule and we are targeting for an earlier completion in August. 

Interviews have been held for the concierge positions and we are in the process of making offers.  We hope to have offers accepted next week!  We are discussing whether we should have the concierges start prior to the completion of the desk and your views on this would be most welcome. 

The role description of the concierge was developed based on the survey results and also based on concierge role descriptions at other buildings.

We will be holding a roof top social event in July to give residents an opportunity to welcome our new concierges.

Notice - Concierge Desk Location and Traffic Patterns
Latest information as of May 26, 2009.

Residents have been asking about the proposed location of the Concierge Desk in Cielo – here’s a quick up-date.

Our designer scoped out 4 possible alternatives for the location of the desk and identified the various traffic patterns in the lobby to help guide us in our decision-making.  Based on traffic flows, the availability of power and the ability to bring cables for security camera hook-ups, we have chosen to locate the desk around the south west pillar in the lobby seating area.  The seats and tables will be moved slightly east to make way for the concierge station. 

This location will give the concierge the best visibility for lobby and front door activity and will show passers-by that the building does have 24 hour 7 day per week concierge service.  As soon as we have drawings available of the desk, we will display them on an easel in the lobby.

The estimated completion date of the concierge desk is August 1st, 2009.

Delta Land Developments, the developer of Cielo has agreed to replace the tile flooring in the building’s elevators.  Council has worked with Delta on this issue and participated in the selection of the new tile. The new slate grey tile will complement the design of the lobby and elevator foyer areas.   

Signature Stone will begin work next Monday, June 15th with anticipated completion by the end of the day on Thursday June 18th. One elevator will be done at a time and will be out of service for two days while the existing tile is removed and the new product is installed and grouted.

We would ask for your cooperation in not having any large items delivered during this period.

Exterior Balcony Deficiency Work Begins
Please be advised that the exterior balcony deficiency work will commence this Thursday, July 17, 2008, with the balcony drip edges cleaned off and re-coated. Expected completion is July 25th, 2008, weather permitting. Please have the residents move any furniture/plants away from the balcony edges so as to facilitate the work. Following the drip edges, the balcony surfaces and windows will be cleaned and pressed metal will be repaired; we will inform you of the cleaning and metal repair dates shortly. Again, this is also weather dependant.

All balcony work will be accessed from the exterior and not via the suites.
